I was thrilled when Our Homes Magazine (Wellington County Orangeville Caledon) made this Caledon home renovation designed by Bruce Clemmensen the Feature Home for it’s Spring issue. Bruce Clemmensen of Clemmensen & Associates Ltd is well known for his construction management for many of the top architects in Toronto but he is modest about his own design projects. I made it my mission to find a publisher that could showcase his talents. Our Homes didn’t disappoint, printing a seven page spread. It’s great to see a residential project I photographed for Johnson Chou in the March/April 2014 issue of Azure Magazine. Shot last fall, it was wonderful to work with Johnson on such an elegant home. To see the online version of the article “A Life In Frames” click here. Coincidentally, Robin Hamill who assisted me on the shoot has one of his images in the same issue. Hightlights of IDS 2014

Here I am sitting on one of Moroso’s sofas in the IDS lounge (Robin dubbed it the BIG sofa). Patrizia Moroso’s talk on her family business was a great look at the history of the furniture brand and their innovative collaborations with a multitude of talented designers.

One of my favorite pieces at the show was the Kona chair designed by Miles Keller of Dystil. Miles Keller has a long resume of experience doing product design for big design brands such as Umbra, Herman Miller and Teknion. Meeting Miles and talking to him about the process of making the chair was awe-inspiring. Congratulations to Miles for being a finalist in Azure’s Awards 2014. [June 2014 note: Miles’ Kona Chair won AZ’s People’s Choice Award for Best Furniture!]

It’s great to see the Grateful Head Salon featured on the cover of the Interiors supplement of the London based  Hairdressers Journal this fall. The photographs were included in an article about inspiring salon interiors in the supplement and as well as on their website.

The stunning garden pavilion has been getting lots of praise on the Desire to Inspire blog. In order to ensure we got the best possible light, my assistant Robin and I spent two days camped out from sunrise to sunset. Despite brushes with wildlife and sprinklers it was well worth the effort! Garden pavilion was designed by Shawn Freeman Architect and built by Clemmensen & Associates.

The Colours of Fall

While at a landscape project designed by Joel Loblaw in downtown Toronto, I couldn’t resist taking close-ups of the plants. The garden has grown a lot since I photographed it last summer and now its fall and the colours of the plants give it another dimension. Imagine living in the downtown core and walking out of your front door to this?
